The Falls Shield Protocol
Most homes want to keep residents moving safely, but finding time for specialist input is hard. A Clinic Day brings a Chartered Physiotherapist on site for a planned block of time, so residents are assessed, programmes are set and your staff know how to keep them going between visits. We work with care homes, assisted living, retirement communities and extra care housing across London.
Everything is recorded, so you have clear evidence of what was done and how residents are progressing.
Individual assessments
Falls risk, strength, balance and mobility for each resident seen.
Exercise programmes
Written programmes your team can follow day to day.
Clinical education for staff
Practical, on the floor, built around your residents.
Outcome reports
Digital records you can use in your evidence for inspection.

Questions managers ask
-
About 30 minutes at the start for a handover on the residents we’ll see and access to their care records. A short tour and introductions to the team are welcome but not essential.
-
A digital outcome report for each resident seen, plus a summary for the home, which you can use in your evidence for the Safe and Effective key questions.
-
With standard strength, balance and mobility measures, repeated at review so you can see change over time.
-
No. We work with the home and, with consent, keep the resident’s GP informed.
